Job Description
Position Title: HVAC Field Supervisor
Reports to: HVAC Department Manager
Pay Classification: Non-Exempt
Pay Type: Hourly Plus Production Pay
Summary
The HVAC Field Supervisor will report directly to the HVAC Department Manager. The HVAC Field Supervisor Mission is to maintain culture, troubleshoot complex issues and provide technical guidance to team members, provide training in sales, repair, and installation of boilers, A/C, and furnaces. An important goal is to guide customers to make intelligent, informed choices that maximize their home comfort and meet their unique needs. HVAC Field Supervisor will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and training apprentices, junior technicians, and service technicians to provide expertise for sales, repairs, and installation skills while providing superb 5-star customer service. It is essential to meet (or exceed!) team revenue and sales goals, team member retention rate, and team net billable efficiency, and obtain an acceptable callback rate by reviewing daily processed tickets to ensure quality is always put first. HVAC Field Supervisor must keep the team's company vehicles in top-tier condition. Another key responsibility is to attend weekly field supervisor meetings to provide feedback and encourage personal growth while providing self-investment, such as reading required books for advancement all while holding his/her team to the highest levels in Integrity, Hardwork, Grattitude, Accountability, and Confidence.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Oversee 3-8 team members on daily operations for service, repair, and installation. Required to get to 8 team members on the team by growing 1-4 new team members every year till the team is full.
· Oversee the team to ensure our core values and culture are being maintained.
· Produce one team meeting a week to improve quality and skills from 7-8 am.
· Coordinate work with other departments within the company daily including Plumbing, Electrical, Assets and the Mechanic, Accounting, Marketing, and sheet metal shop.
· Manage and mentor team members to maintain a neat and organized workplace.
· Customer relations are maintained when our customers have questions or problems with work performed.
· Encourage the team to obtain the training needed to get licensed in the trade.
· Ensure the team has a first call arrival time of 8:00 AM
· Enforce job site safety requirements for all team members.
· Review daily tickets from the team to ensure quality is constantly improving and processes /procedures are being followed.
. Perform and bid jobs up to but not exceeding $75,000 without consulting the Department Manager.
· Enforce discipline and control among field personnel to optimize production efficiency.
· Ensure the team provides a minimum of three options per opportunity to every customer to ensure the customers have all the options.
· Maintain the required revenue and sales for the team.
· Maintain under a 4% recall/2% callback rate for the team.
· Maintain a 90% or higher billable efficiency for the team.
· Maintain a 90% or higher PO accuracy for the team.
· Maintain a 90% Team member retention rate.
· Encourage the team to communicate well with all customers by providing follow-up calls.
· Communicate with Dispatchers daily to help set the team up for success.
· Identify any price book errors to be updated regularly and communicate with the assets team to ensure new quality products are available from our supply house.
Requirements and Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
· Valid driver’s license
· Must be insurable to drive a company vehicle.
· Must pass a pre-employment background screen.
· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC trades.
· Strong knowledge of boilers, A/C’s, furnaces, low temp, and duct design.
· Reliable, detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling several tasks.
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice.
· Ability to perform all physical requirements of the job.
· EPA Certification
· Must have a License (JG/JR/JP/JSM)
Technology and Positive Indicators
· Mobile Device Proficiency.
· Use of Service Titan front and back office.
· Less than 2 places of employment in the last 5 years.
· Experience in leading a team of 3-8 Team members.
· Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
· Use of the measure quick software.
· Commercial, Residential, and Low Temp experience.
· Produced training on new products or skill improvement classes.
