Job Summary
At Polar Express our HVAC Installation Technician assists the Installation Leader and installers in maintaining required production levels by working on, but not limited to, condensers, coils, heat pumps, RTU, boilers, forced air equipment, sheet metal duct systems, cutting and threading pipe, gas piping, etc. for residential customers.
General Accountabilities
Inspects HVAC systems.
Performs Installation Checklists.
Installs HVAC systems Residential and Commercial.
Installation of spiral and flex ducting.
Tests electrical circuits and components.
Tests pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks.
Joins pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water, or refrigerant source.
Reassembles and tests equipment following Installs.
Low and High Voltage Wiring.
Utilizes saftey equipment and property protection
Obtains and maintains required certifications .
Installs, connects, and adjust thermostats, humidistats and timers.
Complies with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
Inspects and tests HVAC systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications.
Properly operate Tablet System and insure all calls are completed with proper information, notes, filter sizes and Model and Serial Numbers
Must stay in touch with dispatch and Office Manager to update/debrief calls and to inform of job progress and ETAs
Excellent Customer Service and satisfaction
Loading Material and equipment from Shop, Wharehouse and or Customers property
Generate new sales and leads onsite
Brazing Refrigerant lines
Leak Testing
Vacuuming system
Ability to mentor and train less experienced Install Technician and or Apprentices
Maintaining Customer Relationships
Scanning and Maintaning Truck Stock Per Job
Work Side by side Lead Installer to ensure full Compliance
Maintaining vehicle Appearance and organization

Job Qualifications
Education: Completion of HVAC or HVAC-R training or apprenticeship program
Experience: Appropriate certifications and/or licensures with 1-2 years of related experience
Must be EPA Certified
Must Pass Background Check and Drug Test
Must have appropriate trade and Hand tools
Must have Clean Driving Record
Physical Requirements
Capability of lifting 75 lbs
Capability of lifting and carrying objects wieghing 75 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, crawl, and climb ladders and stairs
Ability to work in confined spaces and manuever in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units
Ability to continually climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and or crawl, natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception
