Overview of Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician specializing in chiller repair to join
our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of
water chillers for cold plunge tubs. This role requires a deep understanding of HVAC systems,
particularly the components and functioning of chillers.
Key Responsibilities
- Chiller Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on air cooled water chillers.
- System Diagnostics: Diagnose chiller system malfunctions using appropriate testing equipment and tools. Identify issues related to refrigerant levels, compressors, heat exchangers, and controls.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on chillers and related equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimize downtime.
- Installation Assistance: Assist in the installation and repair of water chiller units. Reclaim freon and braise copper as required.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on chiller systems. Complete work orders and service reports in a timely manner.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working on equipment. Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or HVAC certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HVAC, with a strong focus on chiller systems.
- Certification: EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required. Additional certifications related to HVAC systems are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong understanding of chiller system components and controls.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment. Must be comfortable working in a non-climate controlled shop.
- Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex chiller issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical information to non-technical personnel.
