Position Title: Residential Journeyman HVAC Service Technician
Reports to: Residential HVAC Manager
Pay Classification: Non-Exempt
Pay Type: Hourly
Summary
Performs routine repairs, installs, and maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning
(HVAC systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Analyze, troubleshoot, install, repair, rebuild, adjust and replace mechanical equipment such as bearings, motors, heat exchanges, boilers, ventilating and air conditioning compressors, water and pneumatic values, humidity control units, coolers.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all HVAC related equipment. Inspect and verify the operation and safety of all hearing boilers, roof top units, air handling units and ventilation systems.
• Inspect control systems, maintain appropriate operating schedules and adjust as needed to maximize comfort and energy savings
• Maintain records of service calls, preventative maintenance history and equipment/parts inventory utilizing the company computerized maintenance management system
• Assist HVAC Apprentice with troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
• Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
• Respond as essential personnel in case of an emergency, weather or environmental event
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Install equipment such as Boilers, Split Systems, Package Units, Air Handlers, and Duct work, etc.
Requirements and Qualifications
• More than three years and up to and including five years of experience in commercial HVAC equipment installation, repair and maintenance
Licenses, Regulations or Certifications
• Criminal background check required for hire
• Must be insurable
• Valid Driver’s License
• E.P.A/C.F.C. certification

Materials and Equipment Operating Knowledge
• Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals
• Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, fax machine, E-mail, etc.
• Operating knowledge of basic hand tools and other specialized HVAC tools required
• Operating knowledge of refrigerant recovery equipment and vacuum pump required
• Operating knowledge of analog and digital meters, computerized air quality meters, DD DDC controls and computer control systems preferred at hire
