An HVAC service technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They play a critical role in ensuring that HVAC systems operate efficiently and effectively to provide comfort and safety to customers in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
Key responsibilities of an HVAC service technician include:
1. Installing new HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and electrical connections
2. Performing routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity
3. Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with HVAC systems, including identifying faulty components and recommending repair or replacement solutions
4. Repairing or replacing defective parts in HVAC systems, such as compressors, motors, and thermostats
5. Testing HVAC systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meeting performance standards
6. Providing recommendations to customers on energy-efficient upgrades or improvements to their HVAC systems
7. Maintaining accurate records of service calls, work performed, and parts used within CRM
8. Following safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others
9. Communicating effectively with customers to explain issues, repair options, and maintenance recommendations
A successful HVAC service technician should have a strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They should also have solid knowledge of HVAC systems, tools, and equipment, as well as a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience
- Strong background in HVAC systems
- Experience in residential construction and ductwork
- Proficiency in HVAC design and schematics
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems
- Knowledge of mechanical systems
- Certification in HVAC/R is a plus
