    As the TRAINING MANAGER with LIBERTY PAPER, INC., you will will partner with area leadership to advance the capability of all team members, serving as the champion for implementing and executing a training and development strategy and process that yields positive performance results in safety, quality, and production.  The Training and Development Manager will identify and monitor training needs and design, plan and implement training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs.

    This full-time position reports directly to the HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER and is located at Liberty Paper’s paper mill in Becker, Minnesota.

    Required Skills

    IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

    • Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to identify knowledge/skill gaps and build capabilities on the team
    • Review existing training programs suggesting enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention, or to meet changing needs of the organization. Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective including ensuring training documents (OJT’s, SOP’s, Manuals, and Tests) are up to date
    • Work with departmental leadership, identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve
    • Build annual training program and prepares training materials and job aids as needed to support skill development
    • Be responsible for the management and ongoing development of the Training System of Record (Employee Training System)
    • Lead the Team Member Skills Improvement team (Technical Trainers), providing counsel, direction, and expectations to the team. Lead and motivate the team to ensure alignment and that their performance is maximized
    • Provide analytics and reporting on training. Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to an approved training budget
    • Prepare and implements a training budget
    • Actively participate in the Individual Development Planning process within LPI
    • All other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:  

    • Bachelor’s Degree required (Communication, Instructional Design, Human Resources, Education)
    • 5+ Years’ Experience in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Training or Technical training/technical writing experience
    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required
    • Ability to work collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts and Leaders to develop resources and training curriculum that align with adult learning principles
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
    • Business partnership approach to identifying organizational training needs
    • Familiar with and ideally qualified in Six Sigma/Lean process review
    • Excellent Software/Technical Skills [Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Articulate, Captivate, LMS, Video/Mobile Learning]
    • Ability to handle confidentiality, especially in sensitive personal matters/situations.
    • Good organizational & Time Management Skills.
    • Good conflict management skills
