Job Summary The Junior Compliance Officer will support the specialized investigative mission of Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)/Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and participate as part of a team in the investigative mission of national/international investigative programs, initiatives and liaison activities. Duties and Responsibilities -Responsible for receiving, inputting and evaluating data. -Utilize DHS databases to run queries, prepare reports, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and conduct research. -Conduct Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) audits and maintain evidence of employment work authorization. -Prepare audit reports and associated administrative paperwork to support the issuance of Notices of Intent to Fine, Warning Notices and other related documentations for the HSI audits related to the employment eligibility verifications process. -Complete Reports of Investigation in the HSI case management system detailing all audit findings and actions, to include factual reports that identify instances of noncompliance with immigration laws and regulations, inefficient operations and improper or unlawful employment practices. -Perform other audit duties as assigned and deemed necessary to execute the interior enforcement strategy of HSI as it relates to worksite enforcement. -Coordinate these functions and procedures with senior case agents. -Perform all administrative functions necessary to ensure compliance with basic property, time and attendance, facility, and information technology processes in government location. Qualifications -US Citizen is required. -Bachelors Degree with one (1) year of related research and investigation experience or Associates Degree and three (3) years of related research and investigation experience. -Ability to obtain a DHS public trust clearance. -Good computers skills and proficient with the MS Office suite of software products. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -The ability to work well in both team and independent settings. -Good analytical, time management and research skills. -Strong organizational and prioritization skills, high attention to detail, and able to problem solve.
