Internship Overview
ABRAMS seeks an enthusiastic children’s book lover interested in learning more about publicity to join the team as a summer intern! We are seeking a summer intern who can work 20-25 hours per week in ABRAMS downtown NYC office location.
Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, resourceful, and highly organized with the ability to manage and meet deadlines. A strong interest and experience in publicity and/or publishing is required.
You will also attend key meetings and have the chance to observe and participate in the development and execution of Marketing & Publicity campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in each of the growth avenues of Publicity/Public Relations!

Key Responsibility
We’re looking for an intern to work closely with the close-knit, dynamic children’s publicity department on the promotion of children’s books ranging from picture books to middle grade and young adult (YA) novels. The intern will play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the department and work on wide-ranging projects across publicity campaigns, including:
Maintain title information, media clips, press contacts, and detailed logs of publicity projects in an internal database system
Coordinate details and travel logistics for book tours, festivals, conferences, and launch events
Draft press releases and media pitches
Create publicity mailing lists to further relationships and managed outreach to relevant parties
Place orders with the warehouse to send books to reviewers and media contacts.
Proficiency in Mac OS and MS Office Suite, with strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and AdobeAcrobat; experience with Muck Rack a plus
