    REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Contracts

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

    The Contract Department has an immediate need for a Contracts Assistant who will partner with the team in managing all contract drafting/negotiation efforts. As a member of this very busy department.

    YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR…

    • Assisting the contracts team in drafting contracts, contract amendments, and other legal documents
    • Providing administrative assistance to Contracts Team
    • Registering copyright for all Abrams books with the Library of Congress
    • Ensuring that contract data is populated in Title Management System
    • Managing the processing of contract payments
    • Providing internal status update on all open/pending contracts
    • Responding to requests for reversion of rights
    • Partnering with other Contracts Department staff to ensure that the team operates efficiently

    WHAT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING TO US

    • 1 year of experience (in a publishing company or related field)
    • Contracts experience preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Agile self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the Contracts Team and across departments
    • Impeccable time management skills
