We are seeking a Head Technician to become an integral part of our team! You will oversee and conduct carpet cleaning services using various methods (e.g., hot water extraction, steam cleaning, dry cleaning).
Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise:
Supervise water damage restoration processes, including water extraction, drying, dehumidification, and mold remediation.
Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on cleaning and restoration equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order.
Ensure all treatments and services comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
Team Leadership and Training:
Lead, mentor, and train junior technicians to ensure high-quality service and adherence to company standards.
Manage scheduling and assign tasks to team members, ensuring all jobs are completed efficiently and on time.
Perform performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to staff.
Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Customer Interaction:
Interact with clients to assess their needs, explain services, and offer recommendations for carpet cleaning or water damage restoration.
Handle customer concerns or complaints in a professional and effective manner.
Provide estimates and ensure that services are completed as quoted.
Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the process to ensure customer satisfaction.
Inventory and Equipment Management:
Monitor and manage inventory levels for cleaning agents, tools, equipment, and materials.
Ensure proper usage and storage of all equipment and chemicals, maintaining safety and environmental standards.
Order supplies as needed and coordinate with suppliers.
Quality Control:
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company quality standards and client expectations.
Implement and follow up on corrective actions for any deficiencies in service or equipment performance.
Document the completion of work, including any unusual circumstances or issues that arose during the job.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of service orders, job details, client information, and any follow-up required.
Prepare and review invoices and ensure that they are accurate and reflect the work completed.
Collaborate with office staff and management to ensure seamless operations and scheduling.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Ensure all technicians are trained on proper safety protocols, including handling chemicals and water-damaged materials.
Stay updated on OSHA regulations and ensure that safety standards are met at all times.
Conduct regular safety audits of the team and the work environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills: Experience in carpet cleaning techniques, water restoration, mold remediation, and the operation of related machinery.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to train and manage a team.
Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients.
Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise on-site.
Certifications: Industry certifications, such as IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification), may be required or highly beneficial.
Physical Stamina: The role may involve physical labor, such as lifting heavy equipment, moving furniture, and working in challenging environments.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple jobs, schedules, and administrative tasks effectively.
Typical Work Environment:
On-Site: Much of the work will be performed at client locations, whether residential or commercial.
Varied Conditions: Water restoration work may involve dealing with flooded areas, wet carpets, and damp environments.
Team-Oriented: Often working alongside a crew of other technicians, office staff, and management.
