    Hybrid Position to Atlanta or San Diego, Full Time, Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30 Pacific Time

    Exempt Salary Range: $180,000-$300,000. Position eligible for additional incentives including bonus, 401(k) match, health and welfare benefits, amazing culture, growth opportunity and more!!

    JOB SUMMARY:

    We are looking for a Head of Data Science who shares our vision of building sophisticated risk models to advance small business lending. In this role you will lead a team to develop best-in-class credit risk, fraud, verification, and lead response models. The candidate is expected to have a strong data science background, statistical expertise, strong machine learning experience, and a passion for solving problems in innovative ways to drive business results.

    What You'll Be Doing :

    • Build and manage a team to develop best-in-class machine learning models for managing credit and fraud risks, pricing optimization, and sales lead routing programs. These models will enable real-time lending decisions for hundreds of borrowers every month.
    • Strong background in leveraging multiple complex data sources such as credit bureau information, customer supplied information, cash flow information, and alternative data sources at a large scale to build sophisticated credit and fraud models.
    • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to build a robust AI/ML model development platform for development as well as deployment of models into production environment.
    • Coach and mentor team in evaluating new statistical and modeling approaches and alternate data sources to drive better credit decisions.
    • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
    • Hands-on leader, who can provide vision to the team, and willing to roll up sleeves to code, develop models and coach team on writing better queries and develop sophisticated algorithms.

    An Ideal Candidate Looks Like This :

    • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, etc.). Master's / PhD degree preferred.
    • 10+ years' experience in fintech or financial services applying advanced statistical and machine learning models and artificial intelligence predictive models techniques.
    • Expert knowledge in statistical programming languages such as Python, R , and database languages such as SQL
    • Knowledge of advanced statistical modeling , testing ( test control setup ), data mining , ETL, and data science techniques.
    • Experience using GCP, Snowflake, and/or Hadoop systems for distributed analytics and data processing.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    • Communications: Ability to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders with simplicity and clarity.
    • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Diligently attends to details and pursues high standards in accomplishing tasks.
    • Teamwork: Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Exhibits objectivity and openness to others.
