    Safety Director

    Direct Hire

    Salary-$110,000-115,000 DOE

    Our client is seeking a Safety Director that is responsible for ensuring the safety of the workplace. Workplace and field safety is accomplished by the coordination, administration, and implementation of comprehensive training programs in industrial, and environmental safety. The Safety Manager will respond to and investigate reported accidents to evaluate current best practices and recommend changes where necessary. This person must be detail-oriented, skilled in managing complex situations, and requires a strong work ethic to complete tasks.

     

    Our client is dedicated to building and maintaining a strong safety culture and continuously seeks to improve all HSE aspects of our workplace practices, equipment, and services.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
    • Develop and implement accident investigation, data analysis and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
    • Conduct on-site and off-site audits of all company facilities and locations where company equipment is located.
    • Design and conduct safety programs and policies for all personnel safety training, including field employees.
    • Monitor and assess risk potential in all company locations including sites where company equipment is located.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental, health and safety.
    • Direct industrial hygiene, occupational and general safety programs to ensure a safe environment and comply with safety.
    • Investigate and evaluate new safety equipment for replacement.
    • Respond to and assist in all emergencies.

      Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Field/ Industry related licenses and certifications are a PLUS
    • 5 – 10 years EH&S experience in the Manufacturing or Equipment industry; at least 3 years supervisory experience
    • Proficient with MS Office Suite or related software
    • Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable local, state, and federal standards
    • Must be able to attend conferences, meetings and workshops to keep up to date on new safety standards and methods to insure company is compliant and using best practices
    • Must have knowledge on use of equipment designed to test, monitor, inspect and measure safe environmental levels.
    • Excellent communication skills: writing skills required to develop and revise safety programs and policies
    • Must be physically able to maneuver an industrial shop setting and physically able to perform inspections and audits on field locations.
    • Must be able to climb ladder as required in inspections of company equipment or in other conditions relevant to safety.
    • Must be able to perform basic squatting, bending, turning as required in inspections of company equipment.
