SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Conduct health risk assessments and evaluations for disaster-affected areas, ensuring compliance with public health standards.
- Develop strategies and recommendations for health recovery and resilience planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate health considerations into disaster recovery efforts.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage health-related documentation and maintain transparency.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and provide expert input on determination memorandums and appeals.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior health scientists and project teams.
- Stay current with FEMA training requirements, public health policies, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or
- Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field.
- National Health Science Certificate (NHSC) required.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
- IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
- 7116: Program Delivery Manager
- 7117: Site Inspection
- Expertise in public health, epidemiology, and health systems recovery.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and public health software.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- Must possess EOD.
