    Established, hip, modern Chiropractic Integrated Practice in downtown Laguna Beach has created an additional position for a dynamic Massage Therapist within our Therapy Department.

    The perfect candidate is responsible for treating patients through soft tissue manipulation while maintaining a safe and relaxing experience. The therapist should be good at perceiving client wishes and needs through spoken language, body language and other cues and modifying their treatments accordingly and is passionate about helping people live more active and happier lives. Job description includes:

    • Provide 50 minute therapeutic deep muscle massage to patients by appointment
    • Guide clients through service offerings and determine which massages would benefit them most
    • Follow massage treatment as determined by Chiropractors adhesion mapping
    • Evaluate clients to determine painful or stressed areas of the body
    • Suggest future massage appointments to clients
    • Listen effectively to patients during appointments and adjust technique to meet their needs
    • Build positive therapist-patient relationships
    • Maintain accurate and timely patient records
    • Protect client information and confidentiality
    • Maintain professional and clean appearance of the treatment area
    • Effectively communicate with clients and staff.

    Skills include:

    • Interpersonal skills: You are personable to influence patients to complete their therapy schedule and to put their patients at ease during procedures.
    • Communication skills- clear and concise communication skills to communicate with patients at the initial session, to educate them and provide relevant counsel to them. It is also important to communicate clearly with all doctors and staff
    • Listening skills: Their job involves the evaluation and management of patients, hence it is important to develop active listening skills to be able to get the most from patients
    • Team spirit: able to work with other people
    • Excellent knowledge of soft tissue techniques
    • Apt for learning: You are coachable and willing to learn on the job as you grow in your career. Maintain continued education.
    • Completed 500 hours of massage therapy courses
    • Must hold current massage therapy certification
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills
    • Time management abilities
    • Demonstrated sales and customer service skills
    • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, and/or changed at the discretion of management.

    Pay Rate Note:

    Massage therapists are paid per massage provided at the rate of $30-$35 per 50-minute massage rendered. Any meeting/training hours (about 1-2 per week) will be paid at $17 per hour.
