    Position Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Facility Surveyor to join our team. This is a 100% remote role requiring up to 75% travel nationally. The Surveyor will assess compliance with federal regulations at healthcare facilities, ensuring the quality of care and services provided to residents/customers. Surveys include re-certification, comparative reviews, complaint investigations, and revisits across various healthcare settings, such as:

    • Long-term care facilities (nursing homes)
    • Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASC)
    • Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICFs/IID)
    • End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) centers
    • Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF)
    • Hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, and Hospice facilities

    The Surveyor will apply approved protocols and methods during on-site evaluations, including observations, interviews, and reviews of facility records.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct on-site surveys of Medicare-Medicaid certified healthcare facilities to determine compliance with federal regulations.
    • Prepare for surveys, including off-site preparation, facility tours, care observations, record reviews, and staff/family interviews.
    • Evaluate care quality, consumer rights, and the physical environment of facilities.
    • Communicate identified compliance issues with facility personnel during site reviews and exit conferences to ensure understanding.
    • Review and determine the acceptability of corrective action plans.
    • Conduct follow-up visits and monitoring surveys to verify the implementation of corrective measures.
    • Assist with training healthcare facilities and contribute to bureau training initiatives.
    • Participate in work groups and other team activities as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or related discipline.
    • CMS Long-Term Care Basic Training and successful completion of the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) (preferred).
    • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in accrediting or certifying healthcare facilities as a surveyor.
    • Active clinical licensure (e.g., RD, LCSW) is highly desirable.
    • Proven ability to independently make decisions and manage survey processes effectively.
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks independently or collaboratively.
    • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to address conflicts professionally and seek assistance when necessary.
    • Willingness to travel up to 75% regularly.

    Work Environment

    This role offers the flexibility of remote work combined with frequent national travel to healthcare facilities. Candidates must be comfortable working in a variety of clinical and administrative settings.

    $75K to $95K
