    Position Summary:
    We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of mechanics at our client's Seneca landfill location in Fostoria, Ohio. This role is essential for ensuring our fleet of heavy equipment, including dozers, articulating dump trucks, skid steers, and other machinery, is maintained to the highest standards for safe and efficient operations. Candidates with previous waste or landfill experience are strongly preferred, but we are open to candidates with equivalent experience working on similar equipment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee a team of heavy equipment mechanics, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
    • Plan, schedule, and supervise preventative maintenance and repair of heavy equipment to ensure maximum operational availability.
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical issues on equipment, implementing repairs as necessary.
    • Coordinate with operations and safety teams to ensure all equipment meets safety and environmental regulations.
    • Manage inventory for parts and supplies, ensuring all necessary materials are on hand to minimize downtime.
    • Track and report on equipment performance metrics, including maintenance costs, downtime, and repair history.
    • Ensure all documentation for maintenance activities, work orders, and inspections are accurately completed.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience working with heavy equipment (e.g., dozers, articulating dump trucks, skid steers) and at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
    • Preferred Experience: Prior experience in a waste or landfill environment is ideal, though candidates with similar heavy equipment experience are encouraged to apply.
    • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment.
    • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and develop a team effectively.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
