    What You'll Be Doing:

    1. Diverse Work Scope : From bull dozers to generators, you'll handle everything from routine maintenance like oil changes to comprehensive machine rebuilds. Expect variety and excitement in every task.
    2. Flexible Hours: Our shop runs from 7 AM to 3 PM for 8-hour shifts and from 6 AM to 4 PM for 10-hour shifts, providing flexibility to accommodate your schedule.

    4. Field Opportunities: You'll have the chance to travel occasionally to project sites, assisting with specific repairs as needed, adding variety to your role.

    Your typical day looks like:

    • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and emission issues.
    • Troubleshooting computer and wiring problems with equipment.
    • Conducting Tier 4 emissions diagnostics and repairs.
    • Performing inspections and preventive maintenance.
    • Handling equipment teardowns and rebuilds for mobilization.
    • Repairing buckets, attachments, and changing them out as needed for projects.
    • Documenting repairs meticulously and preparing comprehensive work orders.
    • Collaborating with project teams to prioritize repairs and ensure operational efficiency.
    • Upholding company safety policies and procedures, ensuring all safety devices are properly maintained.
    • Engaging in welding and fabrication tasks as required.

    Our Equipment:

    At Independence Excavating, we boast a cutting-edge equipment fleet, featuring:

    • Caterpillar (Cat) equipment making up 80% of our fleet, complemented by Komatsu and John Deere pieces.
    • A wide range of bulldozers, off-road trucks, loaders, and excavators.
    • Heavy trucks, Peterbilt's, Western Stars and Kenworth.

    Do You Have What It Takes?

    To excel in this role, you'll need:

    • A minimum of 2 years of recent experience or training in vehicle/construction equipment repair and maintenance.
    • Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
    • Expertise in operating diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting hydraulic systems.
    • Strong welding and fabrication skills, including acetylene and electric arc welding.
    • The ability to lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
    • A willingness to travel and obtain a CDL driver's license, with a clean driving record.
