We operate heavy equipment in our gravel pits, heavy trucks and trailers to haul our aggregate, and ready-mix trucks for our batch plants.

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking motivated and experienced Heavy Truck Mechanics to join our team in Tioga. This role involves working on semi-trucks, ready-mix trucks, and other equipment in our fleet. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience, a self-starting attitude, and the ability to perform a wide range of mechanical tasks, including engine work, preventative maintenance, and servicing. Strong electrical experience is a big plus.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform engine work, preventative maintenance, and servicing on semi-trucks and ready-mix trucks, including oil changes, transfer case maintenance, differential servicing, and more.
    • Handle repairs and maintenance of brakes, suspension parts, wheel bearings, leaky hydraulics, and other truck components.
    • Operate software programs to manage DVIRs, track repairs, and servicing schedules.
    • Work on a variety of engines, including Caterpillar, Detroit, and Cummins.
    • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on front discharge mixer trucks with automatic Allison transmissions and DD13/Cummins engines, ensuring proper hydraulic operations.
    • Utilize strong electrical skills to diagnose and repair electrical systems and components on trucks and equipment.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in our yard shops.
    • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the fleet remains in top condition and ready for operation.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy truck mechanic.
    • Experience with Caterpillar, Detroit, and Cummins engines is preferred.
    • Proficiency in working with brakes, suspension, wheel bearings, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
    • Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
    • Must have your own tools.
    • Ability to work with software programs for tracking repairs and maintenance.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
