    Job Description

    The High School Campus Engagement Coordinator is responsible for reaching and connecting with students at local high schools. This role involves acting as a missionary on high school campuses, where you will lead efforts to engage students with the message of Jesus and work with our High School team to create and implement tailored outreach strategies. You will also promote and facilitate participation in Youth Night and Saturday night services, ensuring that students are encouraged and supported in attending these events. Additionally, you will build and nurture a core group of students by engaging with them at school events and gatherings, and invite them to participate in our church community and various special activities. This position requires regular attendance at Youth Night, Saturday services, and involvement in special events such as camps and conferences.

    This position reports to the High School Pastor on the Youth team. A part-time role, the schedule generally includes time on high school campuses (5 hours), Wednesday and Saturday night services (10 hours), meetings at our offices in Irvine, and additional time during the week (5 hours) for a total of 20 hours. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Mariners Church is authorized to provide approval for college internship credit for this position.

    • Serve as a missionary on high school campuses. Take the lead in being a missionary at high schools by casting the vision for reaching and serving the community. Collaborate with our High School team to develop a customized strategy tailored to each high school campus. The goal is to reach students with the love of Jesus and invite them into our transformational journey.
    • Connect students to Youth Night & Saturday nights. While your focus is on the campus, you will also be the main advocate for Youth Night and Saturday nights. Create consistent opportunities to invite high schoolers to attend church with you, and help them to overcome any barriers to participation. Attending Wednesday Youth Nights (weekly) and Saturday night services (two times per month) is required. There are special weekend events that will require collaboration and assistance like How to Study the Bible, Conference, Camp, and Youth Takeover weekends.
    • Build and connect a core team of students on each campus. Spend time with students at sporting games, lunch, Christian clubs, performances, or other spots with the goal of connecting with other students and inviting them to be involved at Mariners through weekend services, Youth Night, and serving.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school graduate.
    • Technical Proficiencies - Experience using Google Suite, social media, Canva.
    • Communication Skills - Proficient written and oral communication skills. Comfortable communicating in individual or group settings.
    • Magnetic personality who can rally and invite students to be a part of Mariners.

    Physical Demands

    • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
