Job Summary Dermatology of New Mexico is an exciting new independent physician practice. We are seeking a Part-time Histology Technician to join our team! As a Technician, you will be working in a lab with other technicians running tests and procedures using a variety of equipment, following all lab safety guidelines and procedures, and recording results accurately. You will also perform basic maintenance and calibration on the systems you use daily, stock supplies as needed, and maintain a safe, clean working environment at all times. The ideal candidate has the proper laboratory certification, previous lab experience, and excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Collecting tissue specimens for processing

Performs basic and advanced histology procedures for pathology diagnosis

Performs staining procedures including special histochemistry and immunochemistry

Operates and maintains specialized histology equipment and instrumentations

Qualifications

HT, HTL, or ASCP certification

1 year or greater experience preferred

Strong attention to detail

Familiarity with lab safety procedures
