The Histology Technician implements the laboratory mission, goals and objectives by exemplifying the short and long term vision, values and goals of the laboratory by providing professional service in the performance of job functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports the facility's ideology, mission, goals and objectives.
- Performs in accordance with the laboratory's policies and procedures.
- Follows the laboratory's standards for ethical business conduct.
- Conducts self as a positive role model and team member.
- Participates in laboratory committees, meetings, in-services and activities as applicable.
- Performs according to established compliance policies and procedures.
- Performs according to established Quality Management policies and procedures.
- Complies with safety policies and procedures in the performance of job duties and responsibilities.
- Maintains responsibility for a safe work environment by documenting and reporting any observed or suspected safety violations, hazards and policy/procedure noncompliance.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with visitors, physicians and co-workers.
- Interacts with others in a positive, respectful and considerate manner.
- Uses facility resources appropriately and avoids wasteful practices.
- Reports wasteful practices.
- Analyzes work area and makes recommendations for potential cost-effective and safety improvements
Pay range: Min $31.93 - Max $46.30

Required Skills
- High school diploma, associate degree, or at least 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college or university, equivalent in laboratory experience, or registered as Histology Technician HT (ASCP) preferred.
