SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and provide guidance for the preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of historic structures in disaster-affected areas.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate historic preservation requirements into disaster recovery efforts.
- Prepare and review project documents to ensure compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and FEMA guidelines.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage documentation related to historic preservation.
- Provide expert input on determination memorandums and appeals regarding historic preservation issues.
- Stay current with FEMA training requirements and best practices in historic preservation.
Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation with 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Certifications:
- Architect Registration Examination (ARE) and/or
- National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) certification.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review
- Strong knowledge of historical architecture and federal preservation standards.
- Proficiency in architectural design and analysis tools.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- Must possess EOD.
