    Are you ready to dive into Nashville’s rich history while working on the Cumberland River? Join the Nashville Water Taxi, the sister ship to Pontoon Saloon, as a History Cruise Deckhand! We’re seeking outgoing, hardworking individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about safety, storytelling, and creating memorable guest experiences.

    Role Overview:

    As a Deckhand, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our narrated history cruises. From assisting with the vessel's safe operation to delivering engaging historical anecdotes, your contributions will enhance the experience of every guest aboard the Nashville Water Taxi. This is more than a job — it’s a chance to connect with Nashville’s vibrant past while showcasing your skills at a fast-paced growing company. The Nashville Water Taxi also provides transportation to and from events at Nissan stadium such as Titans Games, concerts, and much more. You’ll also have the opportunity to host private events catering to those interested in the Nashville scenic and history of Cumberland River

    Key Responsibilities:

    Safety First: Assist the captain with safety procedures, including docking and disembarking, and deliver passengers a clear and engaging safety briefing.

    Guest Engagement: Welcome guests with enthusiasm, provide professional customer service, and help set a positive tone for the cruise.

    Historical Narration: Share fascinating facts and stories about the Cumberland River, Nashville’s development, and its cultural heritage, following the cruise script provided and adding your own flare.

    Vessel Readiness: Prepare the boat for cruises by loading supplies, ensuring cleanliness, and maintaining a guest-ready environment.

    Teamwork: Collaborate with the captain and crew to manage smooth cruise operations, from setting up for events to ensuring a seamless transition between tours.

    Adaptability: Think on your feet to anticipate and address guest needs, problem-solve, and contribute to an enjoyable experience for all. Must be quick on your feet and ability to read the room.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Minimum age: 18 years.

    Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

    Familiarity with boats and maritime operations is a plus but not required.

    Positive, cooperative attitude with the ability to work unsupervised.

    You must obtain a TABC server permit, background, and AED/CPR certification if hired.

    Pass a background check and a pre-employment drug test (per USCG regulations).
