Job Description

Hoffman’s Guns for the Good Guys is a family owned firearms store and indoor shooting range located in Newington, CT. We are currently seeking full-time and part time Range Safety Officers to join our team.

APPLICANTS FOR THIS POSITION MUST POSSESS A CT PISTOL PERMIT.

Previous range experience, security experience, or RSO certification a plus.

This position involves three different key function areas:

RANGE DESK ATTENDANT Duties include: accurate, compliant, and efficient processing of customers who wish to enter the range; customer education regarding range safety rules and model functions; and cashier work for non-firearm sales.

RANGE SAFETY OFFICER Duties include: monitoring of safe shooting activities within the range and customer education regarding safe firearm handling.

RANGE MAINTENANCE AND FIREARM CLEANING Duties include: daily, weekly, and monthly range cleaning/maintenance tasks (must pass required fit test and be successfully fitted for a respirator); routine firearm cleaning; and restocking of required range supplies.

The successful candidate will demonstrate: the ability to multi-task comfortably and accurately in a fast paced, retail environment; have good data entry proficiency and basic computer knowledge, possess excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; be positive, friendly and customer-service focused; demonstrate a calm, safety conscientious attitude for range monitoring, and exhibit a strong work ethic, integrity and reliability.

Competitive hourly rate plus monthly non-firearm sales performance bonus. FT positions qualify for respective benefit offerings.
