JOB SUMMARY
As Security Officer, you will play an important role in ensuring that our guests have a safe and enjoyable experience at our hotel. Most of your time will be spent performing property walk-throughs of the interior of the hotel and parameter of the property to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors overnight safety and security operations ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members and hotel property.
Performs property walk-throughs of the interior of the hotels and parameter of the property and food and beverage areas to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.
Contacts the police with any situation that escalates. Under no circumstances will any confrontation and/or physical contact be made by the Security Manager.
Completes investigations/interrogations of accidents, thefts, property loss and unlawful activities.
Responds to emergency situations including; safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property.
Inspects hotel systems to ensure proper usage and required results; reports any discovered issues to Chief of Security.
Serves as the Safety/Loss Prevention resource for the hotel during the overnight shift.
Assists in general liability/worker’s compensation claims administrative process by accurately investigating, recording and communicating incidents and cataloguing evidence during the shift.
Communicates with the Chief of Security progress updates, trends and challenges within the Security department.
Accurately completes incident reporting documentation.
Ensures nightly closing duties are completed as per department guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior security experience preferred.
Must be able to remain calm, tactful, think rationally, and act quickly in critical situations.
Must be able to proficiently speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language. Ability to speak other languages in a multicultural work environment can be extremely helpful in facilitating good communication among all hotel guests and team members.
Must be alert and aware of surroundings at all times; must demonstrate sound judgement in dealing with tense situations.
Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to stand and walk for the majority of each shift.
