Responsibilities:

• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
• Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including taking X-rays, applying anesthesia, and passing instruments
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays)
• Update and maintain patient records in electronic health record systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
• Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
• Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
• Assist with billing and insurance claims processing

Skills:

• Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
• Familiarity with managing medical records in electronic health record systems
• Ability to assess patients' oral health conditions and document findings accurately
• Understanding of dental anatomy and common dental procedures
• Experience with dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
• Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry
