POSITION OPEN – Full-time Chocolatier in-training
HOURS PER WEEK – 40 plus (mandatory overtime at holiday
times)
STARTING WAGE - $11.00 per hour
JOB DESCRIPTION –
As a Chocolate Maker in-training you will assist our team of experienced chocolate makers in all aspects of the production and packaging of our handcrafted Swiss chocolates.
This is a hands-on manufacturing job that requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time while maintaining focus and attention to detail. You will be part of a small team that will count on you to be dependable and flexible in order to meet their production goals.
The successful candidate will be a quick learner who takes direction well, displays a positive attitude and has the ability to complete tasks quickly, accurately and efficiently. No previous chocolate experience is required, but food experience or culinary education are a plus.
NORMAL HOURS – Monday – Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm with 1 hour lunch break
Additional Availability Requirements - Some Saturdays are required and
there is some mandatory overtime at holiday times – Christmas, Valentine’s
Day, Easter and Mother’s Day

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE–

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours at a time

A TYPICAL DAY AS A CHOCOLATE MAKER IN-TRAINING MAY INCLUDE -
- Putting away previously cleaned tools and utensils
- Operating a commercial dish machine
- Hand washing chocolate molds, tools and utensils
- Placing centers onto a chocolate enrobing machine to cover in chocolate
- Removing and boxing finished chocolates from enrobing machine
- Packaging and decorating molded chocolate items
- Packing chocolates into assortment gift boxes
- Weighing and preparing ingredients for chocolate production
- Extensive daily cleaning of the kitchen including machines, work surfaces, and utensils

- Should be competent in both oral and written communication in the English language
