    Job Description

    SUMMARY: 

    The Count Room Clerk is responsible for assisting with a smooth and efficient operation of soft count. The Count Room staff are expected to perform at a professional level and will work closely with the Count Room Supervisors. The position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas; cash handling, documentation, customer service, and procedures. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Ensure interactions with internal and external guests follow the guidelines of the Red Carpet Customer Service Program.
    • Responsible for the removal and replacement of cash boxes from the slot machines.
    • Responsible for the placement of cash boxes onto assigned carts.
    • Responsible for removing cash from cash boxes.
    • Responsible for counting cash from the cash boxes.
    • Responsible for operating currency counting equipment to count the cash from the cash boxes.
    • Responsible for preparing the necessary paperwork and reports detailing records of the count process.
    • Performs other relevant duties as deemed necessary by management.
    • Communicate status of fluctuating cash levels to appropriate management.
    • Answers phone calls with proper phone etiquette.
    • Complies with state, company, department policies and regulations.
    • Assists supervisors and co-workers as needed.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • None.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Able to promptly and accurately follow instructions given by management.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. 
    • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Must obtain a Louisiana Gaming License.

          

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  

    • Minimum of 1 year of cashiering experience and/or heavy money handling experience.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

    Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment.

    • The working conditions are those typically found in an indoor, climate controlled office environment.  
    • Occasional exposure to a casino environment which includes exposure to gaming related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise, high volume guest/Team Member contact in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment.
