Qualifications:
· Have a sympathetic attitude towards the care of the sick.
· Be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
· Be able to carry out directions.
· Show a high level of maturity and be able to deal effective with demands of the job.
· Not be listed in the Nurse Aide Registry for misconduct.
· Not convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor as evidence by a criminal history check.
Responsibilities:
· Provide safe and effective care to the sick and elderly.
· Takes accurate temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
· Performs simple procedures as an extension of the therapy service as directed.
· Follows Universal Precautions and washes hands before and after the care of each patient.
· Completes all work assignments, turns notes in as required by Agency policy.
· Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures of the Agency.
· Adheres to Agency standards and consistency interprets and accurately performs all assigned responsibilities.
· Maintains acceptable attendance status.
· Reports incomplete work assignments to the RN.
· Appearance is clean and well groomed.
· Demonstrates effective time management skills through daily documentation.
· Attends position related in-service, case conferences, and staff meetings.
· Attends all mandatory in-service programs as scheduled.
· Receives a minimum of 12 hours of in-service per calendar year (based on date of employment).
· Maintains clean and neat work environment.
· Demonstrate sound judgment and decision making.
· Coordinates care with RN and reports changes in the patient’s condition.
· Maintains current CPR.
· Participates in the Agency’s QAPI meetings.
