Job Description: We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide in-home occupational therapy services to our patients. This role requires a compassionate professional who can effectively administer therapy plans designed by the Occupational Therapist to improve patients' functional abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct home visits to administer occupational therapy interventions as prescribed by a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Assist patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs) by teaching techniques to improve their functional capabilities.
Monitor patient progress and maintain detailed reports of each visit.
Adjust specific therapeutic interventions to meet the needs and progress of the patient, under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
Educate patients and their families on safe and effective ways to cope with limitations in daily activities.
Comply with all documentation and regulatory requirements set by Medicare and other regulatory bodies.
Communicate effectively with the Occupational Therapist, the healthcare team, the patient, and their family to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Current COTA license in Florida.
Minimum of one year experience in home health, long-term care, or a related field preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to perform home visits.
