Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who is punctual, dependable, and attentive to the patient.

Job Description

Our Home Health Agency is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to work in our financial department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and the skills necessary to improve our current billing procedures and reduce A/R days. We offer competitive compensation.

Perform posting charges and completion of claims to payers in a timely fashion

Implement, maintain, and report on programs initiated by the practice

Submit billing data to insurance providers

Collections

Will be familiar with HCFA -CMS-1500 and UB04

CMS or Medicare Billing

Daily/Weekly/Monthly processing of electronic and paper claims for assigned payers.

Understand and adhere to payer requirements for claim submission, including attaching all necessary documentation to process claims.

Ensure that all electronic submissions are accepted at the payor level and that rejections are corrected within the established timeframe.

Work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided

Enhanced knowledge of HIPAA privacy guidelines as well as maintaining and protecting all confidential information.

Ability to multitask and set priorities on various projects f and reports or the highest rate of returns.

Knowledge of Commercial, Medicare/Medicaid, and Medicare/Medicaid HMOs / Medicare Advantage Plans.

Understanding of A/R project procedures and processes, and the follow-up required to drive collections

Excellent problem-solving skills

3-5 + years experience as a Medical Biller

Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)

Excel, Word, AR Report

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
