We emphasize practical skills alongside academic learning and are looking for a dedicated Home Science Teacher to introduce our elementary students to the fundamentals of home economics.

Job Description: The Home Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching elementary students basic home economics skills, including cooking, nutrition, sewing, and life skills & management. The teacher will create a hands-on, engaging curriculum that helps students develop life skills and an understanding of healthy living.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a home science curriculum that is age-appropriate and aligned with school standards.

Teach students basic cooking techniques, nutrition, kitchen safety, and hygiene incorporated with their curriculum.

Introduce students to sewing, basic clothing care, and simple life skill tasks.

Encourage creativity and problem-solving through practical projects and activities.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to students and parents.

Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate home science into the broader educational program.

Manage and maintain classroom equipment and supplies.

Qualifications:

Degree in Home Economics, Family and Consumer Sciences, Education, or a related field.

Ability to create an engaging and hands-on learning environment.

Passion for teaching practical life skills to children.

Fluent in verbal and written English.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in organizing school-wide events or projects related to home science.

Familiarity with current trends in nutrition and home economics education.

Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
