    Home Visitor

    Texas Home Visiting Program- Maverick Co.

    Founded in 1982 in Laredo, Texas, SCAN is a leading provider of social services in South Texas. SCAN offers a friendly and supportive working environment that encourages personal and professional growth.

    SCAN's Texas Home Visiting Program is committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect through education and early intervention in Eagle Pass and Maverick County.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conducts outreach and recruitment of participants for the Texas Home Visiting Program.
    • Establish and maintain a trusting and professional working relationship with families by providing regular contact.
    • Utilizing the PALS curriculum provides parenting education sessions to caregivers of young children (5 to 18 months of age) in their homes to prevent abuse and neglect, promote positive outcomes for children, and support family well-being.
    • Administers data collection instruments and records data collected.
    • Documents all services provided and maintains accurate participant charts.
    • Provide case management, resource and referrals, basic needs support, and/or other support services to families on caseload.
    • Obtains and maintains certification in PALS curriculum.

    • Ability to work independently as well as to be a contributing team member.
    • Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a team.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • A bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences from an accredited college or university is required.
    • A master's degree is preferred.
    • Bilingual (English-Spanish) is required.
    • Two years related direct experience serving families.
    • Ability to occasionally work some evening hours.
    • Reliable transportation, proof of insurance, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record are required.
