Position Summary
The HOMELESS LEGAL RIGHTS PROJECT advocates on behalf of individuals who are homeless. Currently, the unit has an opening for a full-time Staff Attorney. The Staff Attorney is responsible for providing high-quality legal services to the homeless. The position requires representation in many areas of law, including civil and administrative legal matters, such as immigration, family law, driver license reinstatement, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and other public benefit and civil matters. Knowledge of simple family law matters including simple divorce, child support modification, and name changes is highly recommended. Experience in handling I-90s, N-400s, I-30 with or without I-485s, I-821, and I-765, and FOIA requests is highly recommended. Knowledge of Social Security disability proceedings is highly recommended.
