Since 1982, the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County (CFTH) has been successfully uniting partners and maximizing resources to move people experiencing homelessness into permanent housing with supportive services so that everyone in our community can have a safe place to call home. POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator for the Homeless Response System (HRS) is responsible for providing essential support to the HRS departments, including HRS Coordination, Stability, HRS Strategy & Planning, and Coordinated Entry as needed. This position plays a key role in planning, organizing, and facilitating meetings, ensuring efficient operations, and supporting cross-departmental collaboration. The Coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of strategies, help design and improve work processes, track progress toward key goals, and manage stakeholder relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide administrative and coordination support for HRS departments, contributing to projects, strategic initiatives, and process improvements.
Plan, set up, and facilitate meetings for HRS workgroups, the CoC Steering Committee, and other key stakeholder groups.
Manage meeting preparation, including agenda development, scheduling, materials distribution, and follow-up documentation.
Ensure strong coordination across HRS teams by tracking action items and supporting implementation efforts.
Maintain and update digital communication platforms, including websites, the Partner Portal, SurveyMonkey, Zoom, and email distribution lists.
Assist with partner application processes, ensuring streamlined and effective communication with agencies seeking funding or program participation.
Support LMS (Learning Management System) administration, including partner training coordination and resource accessibility.
Assist in coordinating and managing the Partner Portal, ensuring partners have access to updated resources and information.
Assist with stakeholder engagement, including responding to external requests, coordinating site visits, and ensuring timely follow-up.
Support the Annual Point in Time (PIT) Count by assisting in planning, coordination, and data collection efforts.
Contribute to policy discussions and community outreach efforts on behalf of the HRS and the Coalition for the Homeless (CFTH).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
Associate degree and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in housing, homelessness services, or a related field.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience managing virtual platforms such as Zoom.
Experience with meeting coordination, agenda building, and stakeholder engagement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in project coordination or stakeholder engagement within the homelessness or housing sector.
Knowledge of HUD homeless response system programs, CoC operations, and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with website maintenance, the Partner Portal, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and survey tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey).
Background in data tracking, strategic planning, or policy development related to homelessness services.

Commitment to Best Practices & Learning: Continuously strengthens expertise by staying current on best practices in homelessness response, stakeholder coordination, meeting facilitation, and digital engagement tools (e.g., website updates, survey tools, and virtual platforms).
