Homesteaders is looking for a Chief Actuary to join our leadership team. As our Chief Actuary you will be the head of the organization’s actuarial team. Your team of actuaries are collectively responsible for financial modeling, management of the in-force block of business, cash flow testing, as well as filing accurate and high quality actuarial opinions for the organization.
In this role, you will help accelerate Homesteaders growth plan and work closely with the enterprise strategy team, sales, marketing and finance departments. As Chief Actuary you will be a key leader in developing new products in support of corporate goals. Additionally, you will evaluate new opportunities for the company related to new insurance products, distribution arrangements and help evaluate and execute multiple ventures pursued by Homesteaders.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Attained Associate in the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation required, Fellow, Society of Actuaries (FSA) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years actuarial experience in life insurance industry with a minimum of five years in management of actuarial teams.
- Expertise in product development, working with business partners, and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated proficiency with financial projection software including MG-ALFA and ArcVal.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences.
- Ability to not only set strategy but the demonstrated ability to implement strategy and work with other leaders throughout the organization.
