About the Role:We are seeking a Hospice Director to spearhead the launch of a new branch in Dayton, OH. This role is a unique opportunity for an experienced nurse leader to build a hospice program from the ground up, ensuring compliance, hiring key personnel, and establishing a strong foundation for patient care. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with administrative experience and a deep understanding of hospice operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the establishment of a new hospice branch, securing Medicare licensure and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the Clinical Director, Administrator, and Case Manager in the initial phase.
- Oversee patient care, building a team to support operations over time.
- Identify and recruit key personnel, including ADON, DON, and field staff.
- Provide 24/7 on-call leadership, ensuring seamless patient care and compliance.
- Manage initial operations solo for the first 6-9 months, with no fieldwork for the first 6 months.
- Gradually transition into a full-time Administrator role as the team grows.
- Oversee initial patient intake, with the first three patients provided free of charge to establish services.
- Hire PRN nursing support as patient volume increases.
- Develop policies, procedures, and a strong organizational culture focused on compassionate, high-quality hospice care.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Proven experience in hospice administration, field nursing, and leadership.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare licensure requirements and regulatory standards.
- Hands-on experience in both administrative functions and direct patient care.
- Ability to recruit and build a strong, dedicated hospice team.
