Job Description
The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is responsible for driving top line sales, managing brand awareness, developing strategic promotional plans, and preparing marketing campaigns to attract business. The Vice President of Sales & Marketing guides and assists the property sales teams, reviews sales budgets, researches the current industry trends to identify business opportunities, and shares resources effectively. Travel, commitment, and flexibility required.
This position is based in Franklin, Tennessee.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Serves as a leader in the industry and maintains knowledge of industry trends and implements accordingly within the organization.
- Ensures the execution of Sales and Marketing plans and holds property teams accountable for achieving goals.
- Sets organizational sales goals, strategies, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
- Develops team and financial requirement forecasts for the property Sales teams, including projections for the operating budgets.
- Monitor and manage sales and marketing expenses to ensure cost-effective operations and ROI.
- Oversees eCommerce and develops essential strategies for the company’s portfolio of hotels while implementing tactics to achieve hotel and portfolio-level revenue targets.
- Assists the property Director of Sales with recruiting and retaining property Sales Managers & Coordinators; coaches, trains & mentors on specialty markets & key strategic accounts.
- Communicates newly acquired accounts to property Director of Sales to develop action plans.
- Proactively develops goals and objectives to support the properties.
- Oversees the coordination of Group Transient and Catering bookings to maximize profits.
- Develops hotel-level tactical sales and marketing plans to support overall system-wide sales plans/strategies and programs, inclusive of social media platforms and booking engines.
- Trains on Sales, Company, and Brand Standards.
- Oversees negotiated contracts with customers and commission agreements with third party agencies. Initiates the preparation of proposals and/or contracts to advise prospective customers primarily of the hotel guest rooms, but also meeting space and/or banquet date, space, and rate availability.
- Maintain key customer relationships; develop and implement strategies for expanding the company’s reach within its current customer base in all markets.
- Utilizes industry tools at an expert level and drives results - STR reports, Agency360, Demand360, etc.
- Assists with planning and executing client events, hotel photo shoots and coordinating efforts for industry trade shows.
- Assists properties with business analysis, displacement analysis and works closely with the Revenue Management team.
- Supports Catering Sales or other outlets as needed as it relates to sales strategies and profitability.
- Other duties as assigned.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ leadership (including P&L) experience in the hospitality industry; food and beverage experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, Travel/Tourism, Sales/Marketing or similar is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Select-Service or Full-Service Sales Director of Sales with a major hotel brand (i.e., Hilton, Marriott) is preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting policy and procedures and POS Systems is required, working knowledge of systems such as Delphi, OneYield, GRO & OnQ.
- Extensive experience in strategic planning, revenue generation, and market analysis
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive decision making.
- Knowledge of digital marketing strategies and emerging trends
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Valid driver's license
