Friendly, professional, and attentive, the Host greets guests warmly, manages reservations, and ensures a smooth seating process. This role involves coordinating with the front-of-house team to create a welcoming atmosphere and ensure efficient table turnover.
Responsibilities:
Greeting and Seating: Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude, confirming their reservations and seating them promptly, balancing seating across sections to support efficient service.
Reservation Management: Oversee the reservation system, both for online bookings and walk-ins, maintaining accurate records and updating wait times as needed.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, answering questions about the menu and restaurant policies, assisting with special requests, and managing guest expectations.
Communication: Coordinate with servers and other team members to keep the flow of service smooth, relaying special requests or guest notes to the appropriate staff.
Ambiance and Cleanliness: Ensure the entryway, lobby, and host stand are tidy and inviting. Monitor the ambiance, including lighting and music levels, to create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
Guest Satisfaction: Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the manager when necessary to ensure all guests leave satisfied.
Support Other Roles as Needed: Assist with front-of-house tasks, such as setting up tables, managing the waiting area, or helping servers during peak hours.
Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to remain calm and organized during busy hours
Prior experience in a customer service or restaurant role is a plus
Positive, team-oriented attitude and professional appearance
Knowledge of reservation and POS systems is beneficial but not required
