POSITION SUMMARY: The host/hostess is responsible for checking in and managing the seating of all guests, both reservations and walk-ins. You should be knowledgeable, attentive, and focused on providing the best possible service in a fast-paced environment. You should be efficient, reliable, and perceptive with excellent communication and time management skills.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promptly and warmly greets and directs guests to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements.
- Responds to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Answers phones and schedules reservations as needed.
- Helps restaurant staff by setting and clearing tables; replenishing water; and serving beverages as needed.
- Assists staff with side work, including, but not limited to, cleaning windows, stocking menus, sweeping around the bar, etc.
- It helps create an overall enjoyable dining experience and promotes a safe, clean, and neat environment for guests and other associates.
- Bussing tables as well as bringing out meal orders if waitstaff are busy.
- May perform other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES:
- Must have a great attitude.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced setting while standing and/or walking for long periods of time.
- Must be flexible to work any schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Restaurant Experience preferred.
- Must be available weekday nights and open availability on weekends
