Job Summary

We are seeking a Host/Hostess to join the team at Doris Metropolitan. In this role, you will welcome guests, lead them to their seats, and generally guide the flow of the restaurant. Your goal is to quickly build rapport with patrons and make them feel welcome. The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, and committed to providing an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities

Welcome guests with a smile and answer the phone with a friendly tone. Relay all messages to managers.

Take reservations that are available and fit our seating protocols.

Seat guests at their tables, taking into consideration server availability and guest needs

Provide guests with menus.

Keep up with the statuses of tables dining, allowing for maximized seating.

Making sure all menus are in good condition, replacing ones that need to be.

Thank guests for dining with us upon leaving

Qualifications

Previous experience as a host/hostess, server, or busser is preferred

Friendly and outgoing personality

Excellent communication skills

Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and carrying trays

Familiarity with food safety guidelines

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
