Host
Our purpose is to create restaurants whose positive and vibrant atmosphere will make guests feel at home. The host is the first person that a guest encounters. The impression you make is crucial to starting off their experience on a positive note.
Making people feel welcome, building relationships, and recognizing regulars are your most important responsibilities as a Hav+Mar Host! Our hosts need to put guests at ease as soon as they enter the restaurant, the same way you would if you were welcoming someone into your home! Our guests keep coming back because they can always count on our being happy to see them.
You set the tone for the guest’s evening and are the first to show them what an experience at Hav+Mar is all about. Showing warmth, confidence, and professionalism is a given but don’t forget to SMILE and maintain a warm and hospitable presence at all times. People go out to eat for a variety of reasons and it is your job to read our guests as soon as they walk in the door. Is this group in for a quick business lunch? Are they celebrating an anniversary or birthday? Are they showing off their favorite neighborhood restaurant to friends who are in from out of town? Whatever the case may be this initial assessment will help the rest of the team determine what experience this guest is looking for.
