Summary
The Wine Bar Host will seat guests, answer phones, assist in guest requests and generally assist service staff as needed.

Essential Job Functions
• Seat guests according to Forbes 5 star standards
• Maintaining station rotation and balance in the room
• Answer phones according to Forbes 5 star standards
• Assist guest needs over the phone
• Handles reservation requests
• Complete reservations properly in Resy
• Recommend alternate seating times when busy
• Able to describe facilities and cuisine
• Well versed in all menus and ready to answer any questions related to menu items
• Proficient in the restaurant reservation software (resy)
• Proficient in the maintenance software (hot sauce)
• Check the room before opening and before and after meal periods
• Make station charts for service staff
• Act as a coat check
• AM host is responsible for refilling the complimentary coffee station
• AM host is accountable for monitoring business levels the living room and communicates with the manager on staffing needs
• Mark guest comments in resy
• Complete maintenance requests in hot sauce
• Make cleanliness and maintenance inspections as directed
• Is familiar with hotel fire and safety regulations and procedures
• Adhere to hotel standards, policies, and procedures
• Thank all guests at their departure
• Make copies, files and completes paperwork as needed
• Maintains neat and orderly station
• Checks menus after each use for cleanliness
• Make sure that all restaurant-menus are current and up to date
• Ensure that all private dining menus are ready before the actual meal period
• Familiar with Colorado liquor laws never allow outside liquor (or wine) brought to the restaurant
• Hosts act as a gatekeeper and does not allow outside food items (such as cakes) into the restaurant
• Complete tasks and projects delegated by the manager. Assist other departments as business volumes, and staff levels demand
• Will report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook
• Report work on time. If unable to report for work, notify the manager as described in the employee handbook
• Comply with all policies and procedures for the Food and Beverage department, The Little Nell and The Aspen One
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year related experience required
• Basic knowledge of wine, food and cooking methods
Additional Information
Supervision Given and Received
Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Received: Works under direct supervision of the Restaurant Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
• Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
