    Are you an experienced hospitality professional looking for exciting new opportunities? Retreat Hotels and Resorts is looking for an exceptional individual to be the first General Manager at our new dual-brand TownePlace / Fairfield by Marriott located directly on the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Atlanta, GA. This full-service hotel is expected to open in the summer of 2025. In addition to providing an opportunity to shape the culture of a brand-new hotel, the job affords an opportunity for significant interaction with senior management of Retreat Hotels & Resorts, and a unique opportunity to work closely with the Georgia National Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds is home to the Georgia National Fair, and many other events, generating one million visitors per year, and the hotel is the only Marriott visible from I-75 for 25 miles. We need a leader who thrives in presenting new and creative ideas to boost revenue and build good relationships with guests to ensure repeat business. As the general manager, you will be in charge of human resource management functions such as interviewing, hiring, training, task assignment, coaching/counseling, and performance management. Responsibilities: • Guide the leaders of each hotel department in developing goals, objectives, and a plan of action for achieving them • Establish the hotel's reputation for quality by inspecting rooms, public areas, and the surrounding grounds for cleanliness and upkeep • Generate a budget that ensures guest satisfaction and quality of services while also keeping costs balanced and profit margins maximized • Lead sales and marketing efforts by developing a targeted strategy for publicizing the hotel's services and amenities • Empower hotel staff to excel in superior guest service to drive financial success through strong leadership and creative operational strategies • The General Manager (“GM”) will oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations and coordinate with the Georgia National Fairgrounds. • The role will have a unique opportunity to lead the opening of this new hotel. The GM will help create the organizational structure, direct hiring, and manage general and role-specific training for key hotel personnel before opening. Additionally, the GM will assist in setting up vendor accounts and stocking the hotel with all needed operating supplies and equipment. • Our mission at Retreat Hotels is to create unrivaled guest experiences and a warm and inviting workplace. It’s important that the GM is a people-person who not only prioritizes guest satisfaction but also creates an environment where employees can learn and grow. During operations, the GM will need to monitor guest satisfaction scores, ensure excellent customer service, and monitor associate well-being. • The GM must have a strong background in hotel operations and financial acumen. The GM will need to maintain operating budgets, regular financial reporting, and financial controls. The GM will also oversee sales and marketing efforts, including working closely with the Fairgrounds. The GM for this property should be excited about working closely with the Georgia National Fairgrounds and will be expected to proactively strengthen the connection across both guest experience and business relations. • Highlights of this property include a pool; small outdoor venue for entertainment; a full-service bar and restaurant featuring the only liqueur license on the National Fairgrounds; and an enclosed, air-conditioned Hall-of-Fame walkway between the hotel and Fairgrounds convention center. • Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining and improving operating procedures for both hotel and restaurant operations, setting clear objectives, employee relations, staff, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring the safety and well-being of guests and associates, property maintenance, regular communication with and reporting to ownership, ensuring compliance with Marriott brand standards, and all other functions to maintain a successful operation. Qualifications: • A proven record of experience managing a team, preferably in the hospitality field, is required • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills • 3-5 years as a Hotel General Manager or appropriate senior-level role at a large, complex hotel (Marriott experience preferred). • Experience operating a Food Beverage outlet with alcohol. • Experience opening a new hotel (preferred, but not required). • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree (preferred, but not required). • Demonstrated track record of leadership and strong financial performance. • Driver’s license. • Proficient with Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive. Compensation: $85,000 - $105,000 yearly
