    Job purpose

    Ideal candidates for the House Mentor position will be high-energy, responsible, organized, and passionate about working with youth and families. Candidates will supervise and oversee residents residing in Emergency Shelter Care and Transitional Living. Additionally, the House Mentor will ensure youth VOICES four pillars of wellness: Educated, Creative, Disciplined, and Healed are present in all service delivery and ensure that program implementation follows all grant guidelines, VOICES policies, and timely reporting of information.

    Duties and Responsibilities Floater Position: ALL Shifts when needed 1st Shift Position- 7:30 AM- 3:00 PM

    2nd Shift Position - 3:00 pm- - 11:30pm 3rd Shift Position- 11:30 PM- 7:30 AM overnight

    • Provides direct resident care providing a safe and therapeutic environment through treatment plan implementation, using individual and group instruction in activities of daily living

    • To act as an advocate, educator, mentor, and role model for VOICES Services

    • Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities per the mission and the goals of the organization

    • Completes program evaluation in conjunction with staff and youth participants; prepares the program for internal and external evaluation/Audits

    • Attends monthly VOICES administration meetings

    • Ensures that QA/QI procedures are followed

    • Provide monthly support; discuss needs, progress, or concerns with all residents

    • Maintain all necessary documentation and record-keeping for licensing, regulations, and contracting; work two weekends a month, and work alternate hours if needed.

    • Responsible for managing timelines, coordinating stakeholders

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Three years of experience working with youth and families or in a related field.

    • Ability to implement Individual Crisis Management Plans with residents appropriately

    • Knowledge of/or readiness to learn about Trauma-Informed care and Healing Centered Engagement and implement best practices

    • Experience managing sensitive and confidential information with internal and external partners

    • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and set limits in working with residents

    • Experience with person-centered planning approaches and positive behavioral supports preferred

    • Must pass all local, state, and Federal background checks

    EDUCATION

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent

    • A valid driver’s license and driving record that adheres to VOICES policy guidelines.
