The Glen Retirement System is seeking an experienced Housekeeper to work full-time in our Long-Term Care Community, Village Health Care at The Glen. Prior experience is preferred.

SHIFT: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 4 days on 2 off
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs housekeeping and cleaning activities for resident rooms, common areas, and household within established guidelines.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Follows assigned cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) and deep-cleaning schedule for resident rooms as outlined for housekeeping department.
Cleans assigned areas daily: resident rooms, bathrooms, common household areas including public and office bathrooms, offices, living area and household spas.
Cleans floors: dry mops, wet mops, sweeps, and scrubs.
Cleans movable and stationary furnishing and fixtures in all assigned areas.
Cleans and disinfects resident beds and over-bed tables.
Straightens or rearranges furniture in an orderly fashion as directed.
Cleans and dusts all furniture and horizontal surfaces, spot cleans or washes, disinfects when necessary, polishes where required. This includes the cleaning of windowsills, ledges, shelves, wall art and decor, light fixtures, etc.
Empties, cleans and re-lines waste baskets in resident rooms, all bathrooms, and offices.
Inspects furnishings for wear and defects and reports to supervisor.
Cleans bathrooms (resident, private, public and household spas): Cleans and disinfects all bathroom fixtures, floors, cabinets, tile, equipment and walls as directed including washing mirrors and windows. Replenishes bathroom supplies.
Cleans walls, windows, doors and ceilings. Spot cleans between washing, disinfects when necessary. Walls and ceiling fixtures are cleaned as scheduled.
Cleans entrances, exits of facility and household.
Performs make-ready cleaning duties according to established procedure in resident rooms when resident has been discharged or transferred and prepares room for new resident.
Cleans household beauty shop or main beauty shop as assigned
May be assigned to clean administrative offices, chapel, and conference room
Reports observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctions to Supervisor. Requests work orders for repairs.
Reports supply and equipment needs to Supervisor for replenishing.
Maintains equipment used in performing duties.
Maintains lamps in assigned household, change bulbs and make sure lamps are plugged in.
Other related projects, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work overtime as required.
Well organized and self-motivated.
Must read, write and speak English and be able to follow oral and written directions.
High School education desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to fulfill job requirements in a high-energy, high-traffic area.
Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 90 pounds.
