The Housekeeping Assistant II ** __** reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Under the general supervision performs a variety of cleaning duties according to established department procedures to meet specific hospital standards. Provides services in a customer friendly manner.
_ Responsibilities:_
- Primarily responsible for floor and wall care:
- Dustin went mop, floors, corridor, other areas with appropriate solution or as directed.
- Vacuum, clean, shampoo, carpets, floors, mats, etc.
- And/or clean, waxes puffs and otherwise cares for floors, using battery or all electric equipment.
- Washes and walls, ceilings, fixtures, etc., using chemicals solutions and wall washing equipment.
- Repairs for removal and remove trash, soiled linen, PIMW (potential infectious medical waste), shredding material, chemotherapy, waste, and laboratory waste to soiled dock or other designated area.
- Must be short notice in any emergency such as fire or floods, etc., working varied hours such as weekends, holidays, etc.
- Equipment/furniture is needed. Extension blank or scaffolding in rooms, corridors, and stairwell. Set up meeting rooms for functions with chairs and tables as well as visual equipment when requested. Moves supplies from loading dock when needed.
- Responsible for cleaning, windows, blinds, furniture, etc.:
- Washes, sparkling, polishes, furniture, doors, cabinets, stainless steel, fixtures, corner guards, partitions, sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, drinking fountains, linen and trash, shoots, and other items as directed.
- Moves, removes, and replaces furniture, draperies, etc., as necessary for cleaning.
- Washes vertically, booed windows, inside and out, cleaning sills, frames, and Venetian blinds.
- Cleans and disinfects patient rooms and other areas such as operating rooms, OB, laboratory, etc.
- Operates hospital vehicles as requested.
- Performs duties of assistant I as needed
- Keeps equipment and work areas always clean. Reports any deficiencies or safety hazards to superior immediately.
- Fully drained and performing the operation of current UV light disinfection device (Tru D) along with the interaction with bed control and obtaining patient room for process time requirement.
- Demonstrates appropriate customer service clearly explains to patient family members responsibility for the safety and sanitation of the room, using AIDET - Acknowledge, Introduce, Duracion, Explanation, Thank you.
- Understands the process of correct chemical application, incorrect setting. Proper PPE as appropriate.
- Competent understanding of solid/toxic waste, radiation trash, chemotherapy waste, pharmaceutical waste, PIMW, DOT (department of transportation) training, understand/identifies all chemicals/cleaners used by housekeeping.
- Knowledgeable of appropriate chemicals, appropriate use, designated PPE and location of MSDS (material safety data sheet).
- Thoroughly acquainted with the inspections, treatment and process for bedbugs and other pests.
- Attends all mandatory in-services, including annual safety reviews.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and standards
- Complies with employee code of conduct.
- Refuse meeting minutes, boosted, memos, and departmental updates.
- Maintain professional conduct by treating every person with respect and courtesy.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Comp with all established guidelines in the employee handbook.
This position is full-time, 80 hours per pay period, evening shift, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with alternating weekends and holidays.
