    Lead Housekeeper /Inspector

    One of the desert’s premier hot springs resort and busy day spas is seeking an experienced, Lead Housekeeper / Inspector. He or she will lead by example, have strong attention to detail, love working in a fast paced environment, and be a strong multi-tasker.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Can demonstrate satisfactorily all Duties and Responsibilities of a Housekeeper, House Person, Public Areas Attendant and Laundress.

    · Provide clean, neat, and functional guest rooms in accordance with the policies, standards and guidelines established by Azure Palm Resort.

    · Clean and service guest rooms when needed in accordance with hotel procedures.

    · Works in a fast-paced environment with time constraints and timing deadlines related to production standards and requirements.

    · Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Manager or Maintenance Manager

    · Greet all guests with a proper salutation.

    · Interact with guests and be able to assist the guests with their housekeeping or hotel related requests.

    · Maintains a professional appearance in appropriate attire.

    · Complies with hotel’s health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

    · Ensures the safety and well-being of guests by checking guest occupancy and verifying that rooms have been vacated and reports any inconsistencies to the Housekeeping or Hotel Manager.

    · Follows all procedures when responding to any hotel emergency or safety situations, including but not limited to, handling blood-borne pathogens, sharps, answering fire-alarms, etc.

    · Immediately reports and turns over found items to the Reservations Office in accordance with hotel procedures.

    · Identifies areas for improvement and work collaboratively with the Azure Palm team to achieve consistent excellence.

    · Support departmental operations by maintaining accurate records of linen and other trackable items.

    · Contribute to a safe and efficient work environment by assisting in the development and maintenance of SOP’s.

    · Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel a plus.

    · Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

    Supervisory Duties

    · Leads a team of up to 10 employees.

    · Inspects all completed and vacant rooms for accuracy and to ensure resort standards are being upheld.

    · Assigns daily tasks to Housekeepers, Laundry Attendants, Public Areas Attendant, and Houseman using RMS.

    · Performs room inspections to verify cleanliness aligns with the Azure Palm Hot Springs Mission and policy.

    · Performs employee inspections to ensure we are aligning with the Azure Palm Mission Statement and Resort Standards.

    · Ensure Housekeepers maintain established standards on room cleaning and service times. Address any issues found.

    · Inspects Public Areas and Storage rooms regularly to ensure procedures are followed.

    · Address employee complaints when appropriate.

    · Train all new employees in all the Housekeeping Department areas.

    · Addresses performance concerns in a timely and fair manner.

    · Provides input to Housekeeping Manager for subordinate appraisals.

    · Performs disciplinary actions when appropriate as directed by the Housekeeping Manager following the established guidelines.

    · Acts as Supervisor on Duty when the Housekeeping Manager is off or occupied.

    · Offer constructive feedback to help team members learn and grow in their duties.

    · Ensures the quantity of cleaning supplies are stocked in accordance with brand and company standards.

    · Responsible for proper administration of key control for issued employee keys.

    · Reminds employees to always maintain a reduced noise level.

    · Other related duties as assigned by management.

    Language Skills & Reasoning Ability

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and standard operating procedures in English and Spanish or have the immediate ability to interpret. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using established templates or email. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this role.

    Ability to apply common sense in your decision making to carry out written and oral instruction. Must take initiative to complete tasks without being told by management. Must have the ability to problem solve when presented with a difficult situation and know when to escalate to management.

    Must have knowledge of or the ability to learn Microsoft Office programs for report writing, disciplinary actions, inventory control, etc.
