  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Be available to residents for support and assistance as needed.

    • Monitor common areas to maintain order and address any issues promptly.

    • Conduct intake interviews to gather client information and assess immediate needs.

    • Provide an orientation session covering housing rules, safety procedures, and available services.

    • Ensure clients understand their rights and responsibilities.

    • Conduct regular room checks to ensure compliance with housing rules and cleanliness standards.

    • Respond to crises and emergencies, providing immediate support and contacting emergency services if necessary.

    • Mediate conflicts between residents to resolve disputes and maintain harmony.

    • Collaborate with case managers and behavioral health professionals to monitor residents' well-being.

    • Refer residents to mental health services, counseling, or substance use treatment as needed.

    • Assist with scheduling and transportation to appointments.

    • Conduct workshops on daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting.

    • Encourage participation in educational and vocational programs.

    • Provide information on available resources such as healthcare, employment, and education.

    • Assist with applications for benefits and services.

    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures.

    • Address any security concerns promptly and effectively.

    • Keep detailed records of resident interactions, incidents, and services provided.

    • Prepare regular reports on housing operations, challenges, and successes.

    • Use data to inform of improvements in housing services and support.

    • Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions on housing management.

    • Participate in training sessions on behavioral health, crisis intervention, and other relevant topics.

    • Additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
    • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a housing monitor or housing care coordinator.

    Skills:

    • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse populations.
    • Knowledge of community resources, family support systems, and behavioral health services.
    • Crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
    • Proficiency in documentation.

    Additional Information

    Ability to commute/relocate:

    • Washington, DC 20016: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

    Job Types: Full-time, Contract

    Pay: $17.00 an hour to $17.50 an hour

    Schedule:

    • 8-hour shift

    • Evening shift - As required

    Work Location: In person
