    Job Purpose/Summary

    The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for organizing, implementing, and managing outreach activities related to the Sacred Path Housing Program. This position aims to connect the Los Angeles County Native community with housing assistance, affordable housing options, and supportive services. The Coordinator will collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and housing providers to ensure that target populations are aware of and able to access housing resources.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Outreach and Engagement:

    Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage target populations, including low-income families, homeless individuals, veterans, and others in need of housing assistance.

    Establish partnerships with community organizations, shelters, non-profits, and social service agencies to expand the reach of housing programs.

    Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and information sessions to raise awareness about housing resources.

    Program Promotion:

    Develop promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, and digital content to promote housing programs.

    Utilize social media, newsletters, and other communication channels to disseminate information about housing opportunities.

    Create and maintain a database of outreach contacts and track outreach efforts.

    Collaboration and Networking:

    Build and maintain relationships with housing providers, government agencies and other stakeholders.

    Participate in housing coalitions, community meetings, and advocacy groups to stay informed about housing policies and opportunities.

    Act as a liaison between housing programs and community partners to streamline referral processes.

    Data Collection and Reporting:

    Track outreach efforts and outcomes, maintaining detailed records of contacts made, services provided, and success stories.

    Compile and submit reports on outreach activities, participation rates, and program effectiveness.

    Collect data on housing needs in the community to help inform future outreach and program development efforts.

    Training and Education:

    Provide training and educational workshops for staff, volunteers, and community members on housing-related topics.

    Stay current on housing laws, regulations, and policies affecting affordable housing, tenant rights, and homelessness prevention.

    Client Assistance and Support (as needed):

    Assist clients in navigating housing programs, completing applications, and understanding eligibility requirements.

    Provide one-on-one support to individuals and families seeking housing assistance, connecting them with available resources.

    Follow up with clients to ensure they are connected with appropriate services and support.

    Other Duties:

    Other duties as assigned or required to fulfill the mission of Sacred Path.

    Experience & Qualifications

    2-3 years of experience in community outreach, housing programs, or social services.

    Knowledge of housing resources, affordable housing policies, and social services.

    Able to work independently and as part of a team.

    Education

    Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, urban planning, or a related field.

    License/Certifications

    None Required

    Patient Care and Customer Service

    Deliver exceptional customer service to clients and their families, addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and compassionate manner.

    Resolve any issues related to patient care or service delivery and escalate matters as necessary.

    Communication/Interpersonal Skills

    Interact with people in a professional and respectful manner, both verbally and in writing.

    Some key skills in this area include active listening, clear verbal/written communication, empathy, compassion, cultural humility, conflict resolution, problem-solving, collaboration, time-management, advocacy, resilience, adaptability and adhering to ethical standards such as confidentiality.

    Technology Skills

    Must be able to use a computer or laptop to complete needed tasks for a job.

    Excel, Word, Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs), iPad, electronic health record.

    Utilize technology tools for virtual meetings.

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring data accuracy, security, and adherence to privacy regulations to safeguard sensitive client information.

    Position Qualification Preferences

    Experience working with the American Indian/Alaska Native community.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described are typical of those required by an employee to perform the primary functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk frequently, sit, bend, twist, talk, and hear. There are prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with vendors, and staff.

    Mental Demands

    There are various deadlines associated with this position. The employee must also multi-task and interact with many people on a variety of issues that are, at times, very complicated.

    Other Requirements

    Eligible to work in the United States

    Pass fingerprint clearance

    Maintain annual negative TB test results on file

    Pass a post-offer drug test

    Possess and maintain a reliable vehicle with valid CA driver’s license and active auto insurance

    Available to work evenings and weekends, as needed

    Willing to travel, as needed (travel time could range from 30 - 40%)
